About one year ago, Matt and I went on our honeymoon to Palm Springs, which was the perfect break from Seattle’s cold and rainy March. One of my favorite wedding publications wanted to share our photos (click here for a peek!) so I’ve been holding off on posting snaps from our trip until now! I’ll be breaking the photos up into three posts, by location, and sharing some of our favorite memories and highlights from the trip.
During our three-month engagement, I have to say that our honeymoon vacation was one of my favorite things to dream about and plan with Matt. Time constraints eliminated a lot of far-away, international trips, so we started to think of places neither of us had been to that would entail little planning and maximum relaxation.
Palm Springs met our criteria perfectly! We love everything mid-century modern, and a two-states-away location with a long list of spots to lounge poolside sounded like heaven while we were planning in the middle of Washington State’s dreary, late winter.
We ultimately decided to sandwich a trip to Joshua Tree National Park between two stays in Palm Springs. Our first stop was at The Saguaro Palm Springs, a hip and colorful spot in the heart of Palm Springs.
The pool was our favorite thing about staying at The Saguaro—it’s a fun and colorful spot surrounded by beautiful gardens, complete with a poolside bar and bocce ball courts. This was our first taste of the sun in about five months, so laying poolside all day felt great!
The colorful setting, palm trees, and almost-too-perfect lawns were giving me serious Barbie Dream House vibes.
Palm Springs: The Details
Location: The Saguaro, Palm Springs, CA.
Eats: El Jefe at The Saguaro Palm Springs (we loved the guacamole, margaritas, and tacos)
Favorites: The Saguaro pool & gardens
