The Lands in Palm Springs: The Korakia

Our final stop on our Palm Springs honeymoon was the Korakia Pensione. I loved this spot. The Korakia Pensione is a Mediterranean-style, small boutique hotel tucked away in the quiet neighborhood of downtown Palm Springs (you wouldn’t know that it was so close to the bustling downtown area—it’s incredibly quiet and serene!)

Each morning we started with a home-cooked, complimentary breakfast in the Korakia’s Moroccan courtyard, followed by a dip in the pool.

After exploring out in Joshua Tree for about half our trip, it was nice to pamper ourselves a little back in town. When we weren’t at the pool, Matt and I walked a couple blocks from the Korakia to downtown Palm Springs to explore local coffee, eats, and all the awesome mid-century vintage shops. It’s a wonder we didn’t come home with crates of vintage purchases!

On our last full evening in Palm Springs, we went out to dinner at The Purple Palm at the Colony Palms Hotel and shared plates of scallop risotto, grilled octopus, brioche brulee, and more. After dinner, we walked in the cool of the evening to get date shakes at Great Shakes for (second) dessert—no Palm Springs experience is complete without a date shake, if you ask me!

On our trip, we brought along an Instax camera to take some fun, instant photos. We aren’t really “souvenir people,” but snapping photos during our trip with the Instax was a great way to take home more personal mementos from the trip.
